Recordati purchases six OTC products assets

Recordati has purchased the marketing authorizations, the trademarks and additional assets related to six OTC pharmaceuticals from Cilag and McNeil in Germany.

The products include JHP-Rodler, Betadorm D, Rhinopront, Collomack Topical, Tirgon and Xitix.

Recordati chairman and CEO Giovanni Recordati said, "The OTC pharmaceutical segment in Germany is worth around EUR 4 billion and represents a share in units of 52% of the overall pharmaceutical market."

JHP-Rodler is mint oil indicated for digestive disorder, headache, cough and cold, Betadorm D isDiphenhydramine HCl indicated for sleep disorders and Rhinopront, pseudoephedrine+triprolidine, is indicated for rhinitis and head colds.

The Collomack topical, salicylic acid solution, is an anti- corn preparation, Tirgon is bisacodyl for constipation and Xitix vitamin C lozenges to treat vitamin C deficiency.
